Graduate Assistant, Student Engagement
Brief Summary of Job Description
The Office of Student Engagement Assistantship is a 19/hour week position focusing on the support of the Student Engagement office, helping with communication strategies, and driving student success. This position will assist the Office of Student Engagement (SFT, FSL, LPAC and Student Government), with a strategic communications plan, track student involvement and collect analytics for assessment.
Job Duties
The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement will assist Student Engagement office, FSL, SFT and LPAC with event planning and marketing efforts. Assist during key departmental events and programs such as Blue Gold Welcome, Blue Gold Showcase, Homecoming, LPAC Spring Concert, New Student Enrollment and Admitted Student Day and Junior Day.
Assist Fraternity and Sorority Life with chapter coaching responsibilities, awards night, advise one council or advisory group, roster management changes.
The GA will be a campus administrator of the software Presence and assist with the development of a co-curricular pathway program built internally. The goal of the pathway program will be to increase student involvement, connect unaffiliated students and develop a key point system for learning and student success.
The GA will work with the department communications coordinator on a comprehensive and strategic communications plan and assist with content development, writing and video editing.
Required Qualifications
Event Management, Strategic Communications, Higher Education Student Affairs, event planning, marketing. Data analytics/marketing and strategic planning.
Must be admitted into a graduate program at UNK.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher education, student affairs, marketing, and event management and planning experience. Experience with podcasting and audio editing. Experience leading initiatives to develop student leaders.
