A Governmental Account Manager sells new and used Consumer and Commercial equipment to governmental and municipal customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all C&CE equipment potentially saleable by the dealership. Pertinent brands include, but are not limited to John Deere, Manitou, Alamo, and Diamond.
- Focus on developing selling strategies that increase market share for governmental and municipal sales through John Deere and major short-lines.
- Represents the Dealership in fostering and building relationships with government agencies within Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and the greater Clarksville, TN area.
- Develop relationships with Large Buyer Groups to promote group discounts.
- Develops large territory through systematic contact with target segments, securing a relationship, and assisting in selecting from Hutson's broad product offerings and associated programs.
- Monitors governmental trends and buying cycles through face-to-face interaction with customers, and communicates to management in a timely manner.
- Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
- Attends applicable vendor shows, expos, governmental conferences, sales training events/seminars, etc.
- Utilizes Hutson's Customer Relationship Manager system diligently and consistently to facilitate prioritization, frequency, and viability of both potential and current customers.
- Conduct daily travel to ensure the timely and effective completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.

- Participate in all business and/or department activities related to ensuring the customer experience is positive.

Qualifications
- 5 or more years of sales experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or an agricultural related discipline or related field is required.
- Extensive knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment as well as technology trends/advancements.
- Business, financial and logistical management knowledge.
- Knowledge of relevant agronomic practices and trends.
- Knowledge of key customer account agronomic operations.
- Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to effectively self-manage time to maximize desired outcomes.
- Excellent customer relationship skills with current and future decision makers.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems.
