Position: Golf Shop Clerk

Department: Golf Shop

Reports To: Head Golf Professional, Pro Shop Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-time/Full-time, Seasonal

Summary of Position

Work the computer system for tee time reservations, cash register and point of sale. Collect correct fees for green fees, carts, rental clubs, merchandise and food/beverages. Answer phone, take reservations, greet customers and answer any questions in a professional manner. Perform related duties, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to continually monitor, implement and adhere to all company goals, policies,

procedure and controls.

• Must possess moderate computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft applications and

software.

• Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for receiving money for green fees, shop sales, and tournaments.
• Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Must possess basic knowledge on general accounting procures, working knowledge of golf

merchandise, and be able to operate a Point of Sale (POS) operating system.

• Checking in golfers and maintaining a properly functioning tee sheet and pace of play.
• Able to answer phone is a professional manner and assist guests with their needs.
• Assists in receiving and the displaying of any incoming inventory.
• Informs and assists guest with ongoing sales, promotions, and merchandise.
• Assist with the rotation of shop displays.
• Maintain an organized stock room and replenish any stock that is low on the pro shop floor.
• Assist with maintaining proper inventory counts and levels.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Pro shop Manager or Head Golf Professional.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests.
• Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Basic knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
• Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including

high integrity and respect for individuals.

• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Be familiar with the company’s handbook.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding all problems or issues.
• Have and maintain a valid drivers’ license.
• Must obtain or have a valid New Mexico alcohol servers license
• Present a positive and professional image.
• Ability to take direction and accept corrections.
• Superior work ethic with reliable and predictable attendance.
• Work early mornings, weekends or long shifts if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend and twist at the waist on a regular basis.
• Must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder height.
• Must be able to grasp, push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Must possess sufficient motor skills to operate carts and other equipment as required.
