Job description

Do you love golf? We are actively seeking candidates with extensive Golf Product knowledge including current golf equipment, apparel and accessories to join our Golf Product Receiving team.

In 2023, GVC was acquired by Worldwide Golf Shops and is now part of the WGS Family of retail brands. Worldwide Golf is a privately owned, specialty golf retail & e-commerce company that owns and operates 95+ retail stores along with multiple e-commerce sites. The Worldwide Golf family includes well-renowned golf retail and e-commerce brands such as: Roger Dunn Golf Shops, Edwin Watts Golf, Golf and Ski Warehouse, Fairway Styles.com, Getclubs.com and The Golf Mart.

The primary responsibility of the Golf Product Receiving Agent is to accurately and efficiently receive golf equipment, apparel, and accessories into our web-based inventory systems. The agents utilize their industry product knowledge pertaining to golf equipment to accurately identify specific attributes for each product received. The agents examine and evaluate the condition of item and apply our standard criteria to establish a condition rating for each item handled. The agents may assist with light repair and refinishing work on these clubs as needed. Those with advanced club repair experience or those willing to learn those skill sets may also assist with more advanced club repair, club customization and club building activities as well. Previous experience working with golf equipment or the golf industry is a plus but the right detail orientated candidate can be trained to perform these activities. The processing agent will also assist and be responsible for processing warranty and customer returns. Previous retail or pro shop experience is a plus.

The essential job functions of the Golf Product Receiving Agent includes but will not be limited to:

  • Receive preowned golf equipment utilizing standardized procedures to determine the brand, model, product specific attributes and assign rating condition for each product, preowned club or shaft received
  • Receive new golf equipment, apparel, and accessories from major OEM POs
  • Process customer and stock warranties with OEMs
  • Troubleshoot and identify any product issues or repairs required and utilize receiving systems to create work orders for said products
  • Process receipt of products returned by customers
  • Validate for accuracy the system receipts against all packing slips and effectively communicate any discrepancies with supervisor and respective procurement team members as needed
  • Utilize continuous improvement strategy to identify repair service and receipt processing improvements that can help drive better efficiency and productivity for the team
  • Provide repair services on equipment as needed. These services include but are not limited to activities like regripping clubs, shaft removal and install, club head polishing and refinishing, club component building and club loft, length and/or lie customizations
  • Assist with daily operations in other areas, such as customer service and order fulfillment, as needed.

Experience/Skills required:

  • Golf club product knowledge is required and knowledge base must be current and up to date within the last 3-5 years of product release dates
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on task at hand and meet our quality control protocols; must have the tenacity to ensure accuracy of all assignments completed
  • Is dependable and takes personal ownership of responsibilities
  • Previous club repair experience is a plus; will train detail orientated candidates
  • Ability to learn and follow standardized procedures and operate in a fast paced environment
  • Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office™ applications; able to efficiently utilize a keyboard, mouse and scan wedge to efficiently receive products
  • Experience using inventory management software a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
