Job Description
Join our team as a Golf Maintenance Technician at Little Miami Golf Course! At Great Parks, our team members work together to preserve and protect natural resources and to provide outdoor recreation and education in order to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.
This part time position works various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks to grounds, equipment, and facilities within golf courses.
- Performs various grounds maintenance tasks to golf courses. Applies fertilizer and seed to turf areas. Clears brush and trees. Mows rights-of-way, fairways, greens and rough areas. Plants flowers, shrubs, and trees. Waters and fertilizes plants, prunes trees and shrubs, weeds flower beds, and performs other gardening tasks as required.
- Operates a variety of parks and golf course equipment such as dump truck, lawn mower, weed trimmer, chain saw, shovels, and other gardening tools to perform maintenance tasks.
- Performs minor mechanical repairs and performs routine preventive maintenance to small gasoline engines in tractors, mowers, pumps, trucksters, trucks, and other equipment. Changes oil, lubricates moving parts, checks fluid levels, replaces belts, and performs other basic mechanical maintenance responsibilities.
- Repairs water and sewer lines, and performs minor plumbing and electrical maintenance to park facilities.
- Makes minor repairs to buildings and facilities. Performs rough carpentry, paints walls and ceilings, replaces signs, repairs fences and tables, and performs other maintenance responsibilities.
- Repairs cart paths by patching pot holes and makes other repairs.
- Picks up litter on golf courses, sweeps and mops floors, empties wastebaskets, and performs other custodial duties.
- Logs work performed, problems encountered, parts uses and other information as required.
- Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks of Hamilton County’s policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is: High School Degree or GED with 2 years prior work experience in golf course maintenance or grounds/park maintenance. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines; State of Ohio Pesticide Applicator’s License within one year of employment.
