Position Details
With over 6,300 yards in length, the picturesque, tree-lined, PGA sanctioned course is a par 71 and offers a challenging layout with four teeing areas per hole. Highlights include narrow fairways, fast greens, and water hazards on nine holes. Founded in 1963, the course is located on Rutgers University’s Busch Campus in Piscataway. The mission of the course is to ensure that every player enjoys a timely round of golf played on superior fairways and true greens with uncompromising service and instruction.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Grounds Duties: General Golf Course Maintenance including mowing grass, weed trimming, trash and debris removal, bunker raking, tree and shrub trimming, course setup, hand watering and assisting in Golf Course projects
- Setting the course up for daily play (changing cups, moving tee markers)
- All areas of mowing including greens, tees, fairways, and roughs
- Sand bunker maintenance
- Quality control throughout the property, ensuring all trash, debris, sticks, etc. are picked up
- Assisting with watering and learning the intricacies of the irrigation system
- Ability to safely operate motorized equipment
- Assist with various project work as needed
- Assist with the clean-up of maintenance equipment and facilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance including but not limited to tree pruning, trimming of hedges and grasses, and overall upkeep of bedding areas.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license and two years driving experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of game of golf preferred. For entry-level positions, no experience is required.
