Under the general supervision of the Director of Parks and/or designee, the Clubhouse Leadworker supervises between six and ten employees and the operations related to the City of Kenosha's Washington Park Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse.
The City of Kenosha's only 9-hole course is open 7 days a week during the golf season of Spring through Fall, with varying hours. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Knowledge of the game of golf is helpful, but not required.
- Schedules/oversees daily work shifts of Golf Course employees.
- Monitors and orders all food, beverage, and golf equipment sold in clubhouse.
- Trains and evaluates all clubhouse employees.
- Monitors conditions of clubhouse equipment and reports maintenance needs to the appropriate Parks personnel. Must be able to identify and/or anticipate future equipment needs.
- Participates and recommends staff selection as well as discipline of employees.
- Answers telephone and gives information to callers.
- Addresses public complaints and recommends remedies to Superintendent.
- Organizes and runs golf tournaments.
- Prepares, cooks, and serves food in the clubhouse.
- Prepares bank bags for cash register, maintains proper change balances, and monitors daily intake.
- Works with vendors to secure adequate inventory.
- Promotes course to potential sponsors, advertisers, and customers.
- Monitors Golf Course conditions.
- Maintains clean appearance of public and private areas of the clubhouse.
- Maintains records of golf rounds, passes, and gas car rentals.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- High school diploma, additional coursework in hospitality management helpful.
- Must be the age of 18 or older.
- 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Golf Course Clubhouse operations helpful, but not required.
- Basic computer knowledge, including creating spreadsheets and reports.
- Ability to manipulate a POP system.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to use commercial kitchen equipment, including a grill.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees and the general public.
- Ability to support Parks administration with annual budget.
- Ability to handle reasonably necessary stress.
- Must possess a valid, regular driver's license with a good driving record.
- Tasks may involve occasional heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, up and down stairs, as well as bending or stooping.
- Task involves regular, and at times, extended periods of time standing and walking.
- Job is primarily done indoors.
