Reports to: Lead Mechanic & Grounds Supervisor
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Golf Cart Mechanic position to is assist the Mechanic and diagnose and trouble-shoot Golf Cart performance issues, create a plan and execute repairs, with a focus on quality and efficiently adhering to the service schedule. The Golf Cart Mechanic position should display a proactive, positive attitude and perform all job functions as described below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, trouble-shoot and research golf car performance issues, often working in conjunction with other experienced technicians (coworkers, manufacturers, other retailers) and vendors
- Suggest additional service work and accessories as appropriate
- Repair golf cars, to include removal and installation of motors, solenoids, axles, etc
- Electrical work such as diagnosing complex electrical systems, tracing wiring, rewiring, repairing chargers, etc.
- The Mahaffey way of providing internal customer service
- Provide written documentation of work performed, parts and pricing on work forms in a clear and timely manner
- Inspect/Repair tires
- Keep service area clean and organized
- Performing other related tasks as needed.
- Must be able to provide own personal dependable transportation for use on the job and own tools. (If used, a fuel/vehicle allowance is provided.)
- Must maintain a valid drivers license and insurance coverage with a good driving record. Vehicle must be operated in a safe manner and you must abide by the speed limit at all times.
- Must abide by all Fair Housing laws.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES
- Must have professional experience repairing older and newer American-made Golf Carts (E-Z-GO, Yamaha, Club Car, ICON, Excel)
- Ability to write and communicate professionally
- Ability to apply sound decision-making
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork by assisting co-workers
- Ability to communicate professionally and adapt interpersonal skills to a variety of audiences
- Must have a valid Driver’s License

- Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel or grip, and reach with hands and arms while performing standard duties.
- Frequently required to climb stairs, walk, talk, hear, and drive a Golf Cart while on the property.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
- Frequently use common office equipment, telephone, computer, keyboard, mouse, two-way radio, and variety of different keys.
POSITION SPECIFICS & BENEFITS
- Full-time position; Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- 96 hours PTO accrued each year for first two years of service
- 136 hours of PTO each year after two years and above
- 176 hours of PTO accrued each year after 7 years of service
- 401K with 3% Employer Contribution
- Health/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance available after 30-day waiting period
- Good background required
- 90-day probationary period
