Perform routine operations to select, weigh and mix various materials to prepare specified mixes for milling operations. Use care to order and select correct raw materials, weigh accurately and mix to standard operating procedure. Insures proper operating inventory through communication with warehouse.
Load mixers, mix to prescribed time cycles and facilitate the transfer of the mixer contents to compounding equipment. Maintain constant flow of material to milling operations. Control flow of premix to flux mill.
Manually transfer sheet to compound mill. Initiate unloading of compound mill to calender mill via automatic conveyor. Maintain proper balance of time, temperature and material quantity on compounding equipment to produce specified molding compound.
Change/stage WIP containers when necessary. Perform routine operations to load, coat, blend, screen and pack molding compounds. Locate and move containers of input materials to blender according to lot, batch, and selected container numbers.
Basic understanding of a computer and its operation is required. Work with decimal tolerances when setting mill roll clearances. Performs operator in-process testing and control as it applies to the process and product to meet specifications.
Make, record, log, and chart appropriate product and process control records through EPCS or manually Assists other operators in maintaining various process equipment on the mill line. Maintain equipment with available tools to insure standard operation, such as changing dull knives, grinder knives, and chipping mill rolls. Assist Maintenance personnel in the repair or replacement of various process equipment components.
Disassemble and clean all elements of process equipment as required or on change-over of material. Assist in all efforts to bring non-operating process line equipment back into operation Detect unusual conditions, defective materials, operating difficulties, or process upsets, and report to supervisor. Requires the use of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Provide relief as necessary to maintain continuous operation of process line. Train other operators as assigned Observe prescribed or necessary safety precautions and work according to good manufacturing and housekeeping practices. This position requires direct handling of hazardous materials; Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and is mandated.
Implement and maintain the 5S systems in the Plant. This includes sorting, straightening, and cleaning activities including but not limited to vacuuming, equipment cleaning and inspection and painting. Train other operators as assigned.
Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Perform other related duties as required or necessary.
