Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company to inspire you and empower you to shine? Join us as a Global Market Insights Lead, Rare, Genetic & Hematology (RGH) at the Associate Director level reporting to the Head of Global Insights.
You will be in the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) group at Takeda which unlocks the full potential of Takeda's pipeline and global brands by building high-impact commercialization strategies that deliver transformative benefits to the lives of patients across many therapeutic areas. GPLS supports assets as they prepare for Ph2 entry through late lifecycle, working to shape development plans and extend the reach of key global brands. The team's remit is to deliver effective global product strategies and ensure Takeda achieves its long-term goals for our global brands.
The Global Insights and Analytics (GIA) Team is part of the Global Product and Launch Excellence team at Takeda. The Global Market Insights Lead, RGH will be empowered to deliver strategic market, customer and competitive insights to support global brand and Global Product Team (GPT) priorities. At Takeda, we believe insights are the foundation of product strategy.
How you will contribute:
- Be an objective thought partner for the Global Product Team and the Global Commercial Team (GCTs) to help maximize the impact of Takeda therapies.
- Conduct primary/secondary market research, analytics, and competitive intelligence assessments and distill findings into actionable recommendations to help inform strategic clinical /commercial decision-making throughout the product lifecycle key.
- In partnership with their manager, identify the key business questions to be addressed, the information needed, and the best methodological approach to address key questions to meet the business objectives.
- Work with manager to plan, prioritize, manage, and execute an insights plan that encompasses primary market research, secondary analytics, and competitive intelligence to help address key business questions.
- Complete analyses using available secondary data, syndicated reports and databases and integrate findings into primary market research efforts.
- Provide objective and actionable intelligence on current / future market forces and competitive drivers; partner cross-functionally to anticipate critical competitive catalyst events, evaluate business implications, and inform product strategies.
- Leverage innovative methodologies and industry best practices for designing and executing insight projects, adhering to both internal and external codes of conduct
- Contribute to the development of key strategies and life-cycle management activities as a member of the Global Commercial Team.
- Provide strategic input to the Global Product Team through primary market research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence, and other sources of insights by defining business questions and opportunities, identify strategic insights, and recommend applicable business solutions to support pipeline and new product commercialization.
- Help with analysis to inform the strategic assumptions that are built into brand forecasts.
- Be a strategic and objective thought partner to the Global Product Team, the Global Commercial Team and key cross-functional members across GPLS: (Global Commercial Leads (GCLs), New Products Leads (NPLs), Market Access Leads, Patient Health Excellence, Launch Excellence).
- Contribute to the global competitive intelligence efforts for Takeda's RGH products, partnering with R&D, Medical, Regional Teams, Investor Relations, Communications and beyond.
- Collaborate and partner with US and Regional Insight teams to ensure that a holistic and global understanding of market, customer and competitive insights and to ensure insights plan is aligned with regional activities.
- Collaborate with local colleagues to ensure primary market research is in compliance with local laws and SOPs, in addition to following Global compliance and SOPs.
- Together with manager, address competing priorities and demands within a fast-moving environment.
- Work on ad hoc franchise-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the Takeda and GPLS culture. Contribute to the culture of learning and development across the Global Insights & Analytics team within GPLS.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BA/BS in science or business required; Degree in life-sciences or business preferred
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech, OR the market research/consultancy industries with a focus on the life sciences
- 4+ years experience in market research, analytics or competitive intelligence
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests from a diverse set of stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively and proven ability to influence and inspire
- You should have a successful track record functioning in a matrix environment and delivering results in the areas of market research (required) and competitive intelligence (required)
- Travel to meetings/conferences including international travel is required-up to 25%.
- Stakeholder management skills and an effective team player with influence in a cross-functional environment outside of immediate reporting lines
- High emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with different personality types
- Ability to be flexible in a highly dynamic environment with changing needs
Desired:
- MBA or advanced degree
- Past experience operating in Global Markets
- Comfortable working with secondary data, claims data and other large databases to execute or manage complex analyses to inform commercial decision-making
- Experience working across the product lifecycle - from early pipeline through late lifecycle management
- Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development
- An understanding of rare disease states, treatment paradigms and future trends

This position is currently classified as "hybrid" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.
Base Salary Range: $143,500 to $205,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account several factors including location, skills, education, and experience.
