Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products (BCP) division is hiring a Global Manager, Dealer Development, Distribution, and Merchandising . Role Summary: Lead a team that works closely with our dealer network to drive customer experience through focus on our growing retail customer segment (customers owning less than 20 machines). This global role will focus on prime product sales and distribution for our Construction Industries segment and requires strong alignment and engagement with our Rental, Distribution, and Aftermarket sales and marketing teams.
What You’ll Do
Manage the daily work and strategic direction of up to 5 direct reports located in Cary, NC.
Develop and manage new strategies and initiatives to support profitable sales for Caterpillar and dealers in Construction Industries.
Manage dealer growth and development plans and budgets aimed at Dealer Development and growth.
Engage with the dealer network and internal marketing teams to drive targeted awareness, leads, and events.
Drive distribution excellence and the best customer experience in existing and new locations in conjunction with the dealer network.
Drive Dealer Development, expansion, and change through targeted tactics and strategies through proximity and opportunity analysis.
Manage a multi-million-dollar budget in support of distribution tactics.
Drive sales, loyalty, and new customer growth in target geographies and territories.
Represent the Construction Industries Segment on the Caterpillar Customer Experience Council.
Represent Caterpillar on marketing and sales excellence program enhancements.
Support the Construction Industries Services Division retail aftermarket framework implementation.
Partner with organizations throughout Caterpillar to ensure alignment on top org priorities.
Develop and market best demonstrated practices for distribution.
Hire and develop talent to help Caterpillar achieve desired results.
Implement tactics to improve employee engagement and results.
What You Have
Extensive and progressive experience working for dealers/distributors in the areas of construction equipment, automotive, powersports, or other customer-focused retail businesses.
A strong understanding of merchandising, marketing planning, territory management, inventory planning, product distribution, territory coverage and business operations.
Experience in financial management, understanding profitability drivers and tactics for cost control and distribution efficiency.
Previous management experience of a team with a history of strong employee motivation and development.
Strong interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and an exhibited ability to work across internal and external organizations.
Global perspective, customer focus, relationship management and influencing skills.
Additional Details:
Work location: Cary, NC
Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment requiring 3 days per week of onsite, in office work with additional days having WFH flexibility
Travel expectation for this role is approximately 35%
