Job Title: Client Portfolio Manager - Global High Yield
Department: Client and Product Management
Location: Charlotte, NC
Barings' Client Portfolio Managers work in close partnership and coordination with investment teams and sales as well as other stakeholders within the organization as subject matter experts, focusing on business development, client servicing and product development for certain investment strategies.
This position will support the firm's public fixed income strategies (High Yield, loans, emerging markets, investment grade and structured credit), with a primary focus on High Yield, loans, and CLOs. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members, the investment team, and sales to support existing clients, and to help drive future growth in Barings' public fixed income strategies.
Primary Responsibilities

• Help develop, maintain and prepare marketing and servicing materials for the team. This will include pitch books as well as scheduled and ad-hoc updates on public fixed income markets and specific aspects of an investment strategy (e.g. monthly commentaries, market reviews, market outlook, performance reviews, portfolio positioning etc).
• Collaborate with various teams internally to provide strategy specific responses to RFPs and DDQs
• Develop a close partnership with investment teams in order to deepen knowledge and expertise. This will include:
  • Attending investment team meetings
  • Responding in a timely manner to client and prospect requests
• Help communicate investment strategies internally and externally with the goal of growing assets under management. For more senior members of the team this includes active participation in external client meetings and events
• Stay abreast of market developments and competitor intelligence

Qualifications

• University degree
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience
• Relevant work experience, ideally in either an investment management or investment specialist/product strategist/Client Portfolio Manager role.
• A passion for financial markets and proficiency in public fixed income specifically. High yield/leveraged finance experience a strong plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical approach and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to meet all deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required, including experience using MS Office software to produce high quality presentations
• Willingness to purse CFA designation and FINRA licenses (as needed) desired
