Job Description:
Be a driving force in our culture-focused consulting firm by joining RICK as our GIS Manager. In this role with the GIS Department, you will interact with clients and develop innovative solutions to client’s project needs while helping them leverage spatial data for better decision-making and efficient operations. You will partner with current GIS team members; managing project contracts, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while providing day-to-day leadership with the team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS, a deep understanding of municipal processes, and a proven track record of leadership and successfully managing GIS projects for local government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored GIS solutions to optimize the management of infrastructure assets.
  • Project Management: Manage end-to-end GIS projects for municipal clients including scoping, planning, executing, and delivering: ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Asset Management: Lead and oversee GIS projects with a specific focus on asset management for municipal clients, ensuring the effective utilization of spatial data for infrastructure planning and maintenance, and skill in identifying and mitigating associated risks.
  •  Strategic Planning: Collaborate with clients on strategic planning initiatives related to asset management, leveraging GIS technology to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Data Management: Develop and implement effective strategies for the collection, analysis, and management of spatial data relevant to municipal services.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of advancements in GIS technology and apply innovative solutions to enhance municipal services, including ESRI solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a team of GIS professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure project success and promote professional development. Fostering a culture based on enthusiasm, curiosity, diversity, empowerment and a celebration of people.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in providing GIS solutions including a minimum of 5 years of managing municipal projects.
  • Proven expertise in asset management systems and their integration with GIS.
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS systems and networks.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Project management proficiency, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and deliver results on schedule.
  • Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives.
  • Familiarity with municipal processes and a keen understanding of the challenges faced by local governments.
  • Familiarity with GIS oriented development languages such as Python, SQL, C#, R & JavaScript.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Position requires a good driving record and ability to lift and carry 25lbs of equipment & periodic travel.
