The City of Raleigh's Information Technology Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our IT team as an IT Project Manager Intern. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management within the Information Technology field. The IT Project Manager Intern will work closely with our project management team to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects.
This internship opportunity is a paid position available to work approximately between May through August 2024. Position pay rates are dependent upon education and experience and range from $17 per hour for Undergraduate students and up to $20 per hour for Graduate students.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS databases, maps, and spatial data
- Conduct data collection, entry, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with team members to analyze spatial data and generate meaningful insights
- Support GIS mapping projects by utilizing relevant software and tools
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of GIS reports and visualizations
- Provide general administrative support to the GIS team
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of GIS principles and spatial analysis
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS is a plus

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
