Job Summary
Under the supervision of the City of Grapevine GIS Manager, the incumbent is responsible for creating and maintaining GIS data, developing map exhibits, and will be expected to perform a variety of office and fieldwork necessary in supporting projects and activities assigned.
Essential Functions
1. Creates, reviews, updates, and maintains GIS data as per assignment.
2. Produces maps for project based and ad hoc map requests.
3. Reviews and documents description of tasked workflow steps.
4. Manages tasks and projects as assigned by the GIS Manager.
5. Collects and processes field data using GPS technology and/or customized apps.
6. Performs other duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
7. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
8. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be pursuing Bachelors or Masters in GIS, Geography or a related field, or pursuing GIS
Certification at an accredited community college or university. Current transcripts are required with application.
Ideal candidate should have a basic knowledge of ArcGIS applications and the ability to edit geometric and tabular data in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. Experience with database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
This position requires general knowledge of computers, the Windows operating system, and Windows Office products.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check. Must have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Due to Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) requirements, the candidate must never have been convicted, put on court-ordered community supervision, or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order. Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Deferred Adjudication or Felony Conviction are permanent disqualifiers.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Hired to work as the need arises. Work schedule could be up to 40 hours per week, but the duration of employment shall be no more than six (6) months. No City sponsored benefits will be extended to temporary employees. However, all legally mandated benefits will be extended to temporary employees.
