The GIS Analyst II will play a key role in data management, georeferencing, field data collection, map creation, and client support. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, proficiency in spatial data analysis, and excellent communication skills.
- Digitize new features using editing tools in ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
- Occasionally collect data in the field using GNSS survey equipment.
- Apply coordinate system information to various data sources such as civil construction drawings, CAD files, and aerial imagery.
- Convert GIS data to other digital formats (e.g., CAD, KMZ) and vice versa.
- Prepare mosaics of large raster datasets (e.g., LiDAR, aerial imagery).
- Aid in keeping all municipal and institutional data up to date by maintaining correspondence with relevant organizations.
- Prepare maps and technical exhibits for presentations, engineering design documents, marketing materials, and technical reports.
- Assist engineers in altering existing data for specific engineering applications.
- Prepare website mapping applications using ESRI ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS Online.
- Assist in developing applications using platforms such as ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft Power Apps.
- Prepare materials for client presentations, attend client meetings, and address client inquiries.
- Maintain good interpersonal relationships with managers, engineers, and technicians within the company to fulfill the GIS Department’s role as an internal support group.
- Attend relevant training programs and classes to enhance GIS skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor of Science degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field.
- 2 years’ experience in the GIS field, using ESRI’s ArcGIS suite of software.
- Experience with database programming languages such as SQL or Python.
- Ability to implement GIS application projects.
- Ability to produce maps and other representations of spatial data.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of mapping, coordinate systems, projections, and scales.
- Knowledge of applications programming principles, techniques, and documentation practices.
- Strong geospatial problem-solving skills.
- Working Knowledge of engineering design software (Microstation V8, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities as project needs change.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels of employees within the organization.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime as needed #LI-TJ1
- GISP Certification.
- Experience reading civil engineering design drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and/or Microsoft Power Apps.
