Job Description
As a GIS Analyst with Intrado, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mid-level analysis utilizing GIS (Geographical Information Systems) technology to ensure the data is up-to-date and accurate; responsible for validating and testing geographic data with the appropriate database; provide technical customer support to internal and external customers as assigned; perform mapping, editing, data conversion, geocoding, and error reconciliation within established timelines; provide feedback to developers on GIS processes, tools, and efficiency to aid improvement; participate in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects including preparing reports, material, documentation, and coordinating tasks
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform mapping, editing, data conversion, geocoding, and error reconciliation within established timelines and ensure GIS best practices are followed.
- Create and design cartographically sound hardcopy and digital maps using GIS software.
- Produce maps with quality, accuracy, and completeness in accordance with departmental standards and timeliness.
- Interpret edits on hardcopy map returns and incorporate into GIS software.
- Perform system provisioning to including spatial systems with geographic information, ensuring reconciliation of data.
- Receive, create, maintain and analyze data from a variety of formats and sources ensuring provisions are transferred into the database.
- Execute in-depth GIS data analysis and maintenance which could include editing information in the GIS system (e.g., addresses, location specifics, polygon boundaries, etc.)
- Adhere to the processes required to perform spatial analysis as requested by customers.
- Continually keep up to date on departmental GIS database and editing tools to complete data maintenance, data integrity, and data analysis, as well as ensuring proficiency to serve customers.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of maps and data distributed internally and externally.
- Communicate with appropriate customer teams and business units to provide GIS moderate to complex support.
- Provide feedback to developers on GIS processes, tools, and efficiency to aid improvement.
- Prepare reports, material, and documentation as requested by project lead ensuring timelines are met.
- Cross train on a variety of related departmental functions
- Participating in training and mentoring of coworkers on skills and mapping and geocoding techniques, editing, data conversion, and error reconciliation, as required
- Act as project lead on introductory mid-grade projects when necessary and assigned by manager.
- Work both as part of a team and individually, with minimal supervision, to complete tasks as assigned.
- Team Interfaces/Customer Service - Establish and maintain a professional relationship with internal/external customers, team members and department contacts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of a 1-year Geographical Information Systems (GIS) certificate from an accredited college or university required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), or a related field is preferred.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in the GIS field required, to include one-year previous experience in the 9-1-1 environment preferred.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Intermediate ArcGIS Desktop knowledge is required, to be obtained through a minimum of two years' experience using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop
- Basic knowledge of ArcGIS Server administration is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Oracle Database Management Systems or SQL Server is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Python is preferred.
OTHER:
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Basic knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Access preferred.
- May be asked to work a shift outside of normal schedule

For candidates located in Colorado, the hiring range for this position is anticipated between $50,000 and $62,000 per year and will be commensurate with experience. Candidates may be eligible for differential pay based on shift worked and premium pay for overtime and/or being on call.
