JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Gift Shop Manager. Responsible for retail sales. Provides customer service and product information.
Supervision Exercised
Supervised by the Market Center Manager and the Sales Floor Coordinators.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets customers cordially, within one (1) minute or less.
- Suggestive sales, using promotional in-Store Sales, as well using Special Orders to promote sales of inventory.
- Works cooperatively with management and co-workers to develop a "Team" relationship to achieve desired business goals.
- Provides product information and answer questions regarding arts and crafts, apparel, jewelry, pottery, liquor, etc.
- Accurately handles all sales transactions through Point-of-Sale systems-cash handling: credit card processing, shipping/handling, proper receipt retention and obtaining ID as required.
- Directs patrons to proper office as appropriate to seek resolution of problems beyond the information and capabilities available to Sales Associate.
- Answer telephones politely, takes and records accurate messages and passes them to the appropriate person.
- * Re-stocking and merchandising of inventory
* Affix price labels as directed by Sales Floor Coordinator or Buyer.
* Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
* Maintain and replace/re-stock supplies
* Maintain clean cases, jewelry, and merchandise
* Maintain brochure and informative materials - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and assignments.

- Must be friendly, enjoy working with public and communicate effectively.
- Ability to effectively communicates information and/or policy and procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
- Ability to handle money and balance a cash register drawer.
- Ability to learn point of sales software.
