Gift Shop Associate

Job Description:

Responsible to provide excellent customer service, to transact and record sales and money accurately and to assist in maintaining an attractive Gift Shop environment.

Operates the cash register and accurately processes money transactions.
Ensures proper and accurate transaction of money, credit cards, and reports.
Answers phone, takes phone orders and messages with timely and accurate follow through.
Follows department opening, closing, and security procedures.
Participates in and supports the development of department and team goals. Actively participates in the team to support teamwork and a positive working environment.
May assist with stocking, inventory, and price tagging of merchandise.

Minimum Qualifications

• Six months experience in a retail environment, responsible for cash and credit card transactions.

• Experience with cash registers and computers.
  • and -
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal relations and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year experience in a retail environment, responsible for cash and credit card transactions.

Physical Requirements:

• Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.

• Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

• See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • and -
• Lift and carry inventory.

• Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
