Job Description
Lynker Corporation is seeking to hire a full-time Geospatial Scientist to support a variety of projects related to hydrologic modeling, geospatial analysis, flood inundation mapping, water resources engineering, and other scientific studies for our water resources team based in Boulder, Colorado. The successful candidate will work with the Lynker team on tasks including:
Key Responsibilities of the Geospatial Scientist:
Acquiring, managing, and processing large hydrometeorological and geospatial datasets
Analyzing and processing geospatial data (vector and raster)
Developing and modifying model workflows and supporting scripts
Calibrating, implementing, and evaluating hydrologic models
Supporting model development and analysis for flood inundation mapping, water supply forecasting, and water management operations
Assessing client needs and formulating appropriate solutions
Requirements
Minimum required qualifications of the Geospatial Scientist include:
Master's degree or equivalent experience in earth sciences or a closely related field
(e.g., geology, hydrology, climate science, water resources engineering)
Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python) ideally with experience using open-source tools and packages such as Pandas, Numpy, Xarray, GDAL/OGR, NCO, Scikit-learn etc.
Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and other relevant languages.
Preferred qualifications include:
Proficiency in applying popular machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, SciPy, OpenCV, and Rasterio for model development and evaluation
Experience working in Github
Experience in shell scripting in Linux environments is a plus
Experience working in AWS development environments is a plus
