Job Title: Canvasser
Location: Macon, GA
Compensation: $20 hourly
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position: Part-time (29 hrs/week), temporary

Position Overview
Canvassers play a critical role in grassroots political campaigns by mobilizing voters and community members at large about Care in Action’s mission and endorsed candidates, while collecting valuable data for campaign strategies. As a Canvasser, you communicate directly with individuals through door-knocking, aiming to build support, educate constituents, and increase voter turnout.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Canvass door-to-door to mobilize voters to vote in upcoming elections
- Distribute important election materials to voters while following requisite COVID-19 safety protocols, including social distancing
- Accurately input data and complete canvassing shifts on a regular basis
- Check-in regularly with your Lead about your progress and team GOTV goals
- Communicate with your supervisor daily about your shifts and availability
- Represent the organization and its priorities professionally and effectively to the public
Qualifications and Experience:
- Have access to a car with car insurance, smartphone that is compatible with miniVAN, a computer, and reliable internet access for job duration
- Must be relational and able to engage with voters from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to be trained on Care in Action canvasser protocols, policy priorities, endorsed candidates, and voter education
- Willing to canvass in Macon-Bibb and other areas as assigned
- Work well independently towards a team goal
- Strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality
- Be goal-oriented, a problem solver, punctual, organized, and have a positive attitude
- Believe in the mission and vision of Care in Action
- Flexibility is a must
- Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus
