Itasca Consulting Group, Inc. is looking for several individuals to support and upgrade discrete element method and/or finite difference method computer codes used in geotechnical analysis. The duties include: Performs numerical modeling, analyzes results, and communicates results to clients. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. May lead small projects and engages directly with clients. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Reports to a supervisor or manager. Occasional travel is required to visit client sites and attend professional conferences, accounting for less than 10% of the individual’s time. Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Geological, Mining or Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, Geophysics, Physics or related and one (1) year experience as Geomechanics Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Civil Engineer, Rock Mechanics Engineer, Geomechanics Consultant, Research Associate, Research Assistant, or related. The required experience must include one (1) year experience applying discrete element method and/or finite difference method numerical modeling techniques to geomechanics-related engineering projects. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is also acceptable.
