Position Overview: The Picking Associate processes customer orders by picking the correct part and quantity to ensure the highest quality standards are met for customer orders around the world.
This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.
Responsibilities:
• Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.
Order Storage Retrieval (OSR)
• Pick the correct part and quantities from the storage tray that arrives at the work station and place in a target tray to be sent to the pack station for processing
• Correct any parts picked that arrive and are over height or over weight and reconcile according to the DigiKey's standard process.
• Prepack single strip parts onto a DKR per customer's request following DigiKey processes (DKR|Spinning)
• Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
Gray Shelf
• Pick parts using a handheld device that directs you to the location to pick the parts
• Remove product from totes and put into correct storage location within the gray shelving area (putaway process)
• Correct any parts picked that arrive and are over height or over weight and reconcile according to the DigiKey's standard process.
• Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
Pallet
• Pick parts primarily from the pallet storage area using a handheld device that directs you to the location to pick the parts
• Remove product from totes or on pallets and put back into correct storage location within pallet area (putaway process)
• Correct any parts picked that arrive and are over height or over weight and reconcile according to the DigiKey's standard process.
• Operate and adhere to Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (Stock Chasers, Order Picker, Turret Trucks and Forklifts) policy and equipment rules with limited supervision
• Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
Large and Oversize
• Pick parts using a handheld device that directs you to the location to pick the parts
• Remove product from pallets and put into correct storage location
• Transport non-conveyable inventory to large and oversize packaging.
• Correct any parts picked that arrive and are over height or over weight and reconcile according to the DigiKey's standard process.
• Operate and adhere to Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (Stock Chasers, Order Picker, Turret Trucks and Forklifts) policy and equipment rules with limited supervision
• Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
Tape Encabulator
• Place parts into a bag, seal and place in the target tray
• Complete requested random quantity verifications
• Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
Additional Work Experince:
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Basic computer navigation and typing skills
• Ability to provide a positive, professional and enthusiastic outlook or perspective
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task as well as the ability to change focus quickly based on requests by employees/management
• Quickly and efficiently solve problems; collaborate with peers and leaders as needed to resolve issues
• Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success
• Regular and consistent attendance due to need to access physical equipment

Physical Requirements:
• Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
• My move or stand on concrete throughout 8-10-hour workday
• Routinely lift 5-10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Ability to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs
• Ability to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level
