We are looking for a General Manager / General Club Manager to join our team at Indianapolis Yacht Club (IYC), located near Fishers, IN.
Location: just outside Indianapolis, IN - near Fishers, IN.

Overview
Reporting to the Chairman and Commodore, the Club Manager is the “face” of IYC supporting the goals established by the IYC Board of Directors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to areas of general business operations, public and member relations, event sales, accounting, security, and catering coordination.
General Duties
- Conduct him/herself in a professional and courteous manner with IYC members, guests and suppliers at all times
- Manage daily business functions, phone calls, emails, mail, billings, etc. • Accounts receivable; processed on a daily basis, make bank deposits as needed and update QuickBooks
- Accounts payable; process all check requests weekly, update QuickBooks • Support outside tax accountant as needed
- File monthly tax reports to the State of Indiana
- File entity reports in accordance with the State of Indiana
- Follow up on inquiry emails on a daily basis
- Handle any claims/complaints against the Club and escalate to the Chairman and Commodore immediately
- Support, enforce, and carry the Club Rules and Policies established and published by the IYC Board of Directors
- Work with the caterer for the grill on a weekly basis, as needed
- Submit and maintain payroll bi-weekly, to Commodore for approval, for in-house employees as well as bartender staff
- Keep a running spreadsheet, by month, of all income for the grill, private events, and members events and report future events on the monthly pipeline to the Board • Work with committee Chairperson(s) and members as necessary
- Manage the assistant club manager, janitorial services, bartenders, and pool monitors (scheduling, performance, pay, etc.)
- Coordinate with vendors, as needed, for projects needing attention
- Be the “face of the club” as usually the first one to be contacted by those coming to the Club
- Each day new items are to be dealt with as needed
Board Duties
- Prepare monthly reports with the support of the Treasurer, including but not limited to clubhouse usage, catering operations, member application, potential capital expenditures, events pipeline, lead tracking, and security issues
- Work with the Board of Directors as needed
- Work with the Treasurer to provide input for the preparation of the annual budget Marketing Duties
- Establish a proactive and comprehensive sales effort to “SELL” the club to both the members and the public. This would include the use of media advertising, event planners, calling on companies, wedding events, and attending planning events
- Member Duties
- Arrange and greet any prospective client or new member, whether a venue tour for an event or membership. Maintain tracking information on each contact
- Process new members to include picture ID, logging in the system, tours, gate access cards, website information, FaceBook information, etc.
- Keep a current file on all members – ensuring all necessary forms are on file i.e. boating information, insurance, etc.
- Send emails to Members as often as necessary
- Maintain the member organizer
- Invoice members for any house accounts throughout the month and follow up on a monthly basis to ensure payment has been received
Event Duties
- Maintain the club calendar for venue rentals and club events
- Arrange bartenders for private and club events (using the same bartenders as much as possible so they get to know members, etc.)
- Arrange security officers for private events, if needed
- Hire and schedule caterers, as necessary, for all club rental events
- Manage and oversee the purchase of bar supplies (including alcohol) as needed and obtain a monthly inventory. This position is the primary club representative with all beer and alcohol distributors
- Assist Rear Commodore/Social Board Members with all club events
- Be available, as necessary, to support club activities
- Maintain the RSVP list/Eventbrite list for events and respond to member questions on events
- Meet with prospective vendors for the club; florist, DJ, caterers, etc.
