Job Description
Fabulous Floors is growing in the Austin, TX market and we are looking for a General Manager to lead our Residential and Commercial flooring operations in this area. This position is a key member of the Company’s leadership team and will be an integral part of building and developing a successful team that provides excellent service to our clients. This position will be based at our Contract Floorworks (CFW) location.
Primary Responsibilities:
CFW Residential –
- All CFW departments, except for Sales, will report directly to General Manager (Showroom/Design, Warehouse, and Field Supervision). Sales will have a dotted line reporting relationship to General Manager.
- General Manager to develop team and delegate responsibilities and tasks to employees for each department. Create policies and procedures that are specific to the Austin market and client base.
- Responsible for oversight and execution employee hiring, onboarding, training, creation of employee development plans, and administering disciplinary actions.
- Support current Sales growth that is expected to double in the next 12 to 18 months.
- Streamline operations; develop best practices that can be adopted across the organization to improve efficiencies and increase profit margin.
- Fabulous Floors Commercial –
- Sales Team(s) to have dotted line reporting relationship to General Manager; provide support to double commercial sales over the next 12 to 18 months.
- Coordinate CFW assets to support the Fabulous Floors Commercial Team.
Combined Austin Operations –
- Consolidation of Residential and Commercial operations into one facility.
- Work with Corporate on ordering, AP, AR, and collections.
- Responsible for hiring and training new employees
- Coordinate all departments to work together through Job Runner.
- Inventory control, including management of stocking materials.
Additional Details and Requirements:
- Prefer candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Operations Management, or similar field of study; related work experience can be substituted.
- Successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of demonstrated strong leadership skills managing a team and developing an organization.
- Position is hands-on, successful candidate will be expected to fully understand each function at the location and step in to help the team execute.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- This position cannot be done remotely, the successful candidate will be on-site at our Austin location and will periodically travel to our corporate office in Dallas, TX.
- Prefer candidate with P&L responsibility greater than $10MM.
- Must be well versed and experienced with conflict management and resolution.
- Prefer candidates with prior Sales and Operations experience.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strongly prefer candidates with prior experience in flooring.
- Prior experience using Job Runner or RFMS is a plus.
- Prefer candidate in the Austin, TX area. Will consider some relocation assistance for the right candidate.
