General Manager
About the Position:
Wolff/SMG is a national leader in the fulfillment of premiums for large consumer magazines and not for profit organizations. We are looking for a General Manager for our Macedon, New York Facilities who has experience in Operations Management including - warehousing, fulfillment services, order processing, shipping/receiving and US Mail services. who can effectively run the day-to-day operation, while motivating the staff and creating growth and profitability for the company. This individual will be a self-motivated valuable member of a multi-location national fulfillment service organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and manage all business operations including:
a. Financial Performance
b. Service Excellence and Quality
c. Labor/Service Efficiency.
2. Provide direction and guidance to supervisors and employees including:
a. Staff management, Employees, and temporary labor.
b. Facilities management, including organization and maintenance.
c. Order Management (including Digital File Processing), Productivity and Efficiency.
d. Customer Care/ Interface
e. Inventory Management.
f. Familiarity with kitting and assembly initiatives.
g. Experience in quotation, project management and execution.
h. Manage operational interactions with vendors.
3. Become Primary Contact for Clients & New Business Prospects alike:
a. Product/Project Quotes & Pricing; Item Assessment for postage/parcel qualification and costs
b. Interface with clients on service to their business, monitoring business volumes, changes in projections and to further business opportunities
c. Comfortable with communication via Phone, email, zoom, and periodic site visits –available for travel to US/Canada.
d. Maintain visible contact with clients and influencers.
e. Keep appropriate web presence alive/updated/proactive/visible through an outside service contract and interactions of corporate/group management.
4. Maintain budgets, monitoring and managing expenses, including:
a. Job Cost Financial Analysis – pricing estimates vs. final cost comparisons.
b. Manage staff and client interactions in billing, reconciliations, invoice questions/challenges/accuracy and timeliness.
5. Prepare regular reports for senior management.
6. Develop and implement growth plans and strategies including ongoing business plans.
7. Develop and implement strategies to improve overall quality, productivity, and efficiency.
8. Interface with Finance – Billing, Reconciliations and Back-up details.
9. Ongoing interface with USPS (primary) and other Carrier relationships (secondary) – Working knowledge of compliance assessment for entry of items in all classes of USPS Mail.
10. Drive new business directly and work with the sales staff Focus on account retention and organic growth .

Ø Manage financial staff in billing, reconciliations, invoice questions/challenges/accuracy and timeliness.

Ø Strong work ethic.
Ø Excellent computer skills – MS Office (Heavy Excel utilization); Some custom software and maintaining working knowledge of operational technologies that can improve processes and quality of service delivery.
Ø Meticulous attention to details in the context of quality of service and duty of care re: inventory management.
Ø BS/BA in Business or Relevant Field desired.
Ø Knowledge of Order Processing in Volume including US Postage and Carriers UPS, FED EX, LTL for shipping is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
