We are seeking a results-driven individual to join our growing organization as General Manager of our Carlsbad, California facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operational, managerial, and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls.
- Assist Vice President with setting challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance, and profitability.
- Work with Vice President to set and meet the business goals and objectives to aide in the growth of the company.
- Take ownership for full implementation of programs and initiatives on expense management and per hourly productivity and measure efficiency.
- Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes to improve operations.
- Develop a diverse, high performance and efficient team.
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
- Assist with creating action plans to improve employee performance.
- Ensure consistency of operational processes
- Ensure that the plant operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company ethics policies.
- Manage and train supervisors, engineers, and managers in the manufacturing operations team.
- Establish goals and objectives for the team to meet site and business targets for key performance metrics.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Direct the manufacturing teams to execute production plans to meet service level goals and objectives while meeting cost targets.
- Develop standard work for the supervisory team.
- Maintain required reporting per site and business requirements/schedules.
- Create and manage expense and capital budgets for the site.
- Identify and/or support execution of cost reduction projects around labor and material efficiency in support of the Continuous Improvement team and site targets.
- Collaborate with Quality and the Materials teams to resolve manufacturing quality issues and to support as needed supplier component and material quality issues to eliminate or reduce impact to manufacturing operations and customer fulfillment.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Develop the capabilities of reports and their teams by establishing annual performance objectives.
- Monitor employee and team performance vs. established goals.
- Establish and implement talent development and succession plans.
- Recognize team member’s contributions and achievements.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Industrial Engineering.
- MS degree in Business Administration or degree in Finance/Accounting desired.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
- Strong strategic thinking, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
- Budget management experience required.
- 15+ years’ leadership experience in manufacturing operation and or engineering services.
