General Description:
This role will serve as a General Manager and will execute the daily work flow and financial responsibilities for a small private commercial real-estate property management company associated with Scan Design. This role is responsible for office and general staff oversight, property management tasks as needed to support the property manager, and managing financial information, such as bank account management, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing and reconciliations, for multiple small entities housed within the company. A successful candidate will have expertise as an independent bookkeeper or staff accountant, with proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, and general office management or commercial property management experience. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, detail oriented, and have a professional presence.
General Management Responsibilities:
-Oversee operations and administration of small private commercial real-estate office
-Manage the general operation of the office and provide staff oversight and support
-Communicate with partners, vendors, staff, and tenants as needed, for the success of the operation
-Review and advise partners and staff on contracts, regulations, and procedural guidance for activities related to the business
-Handle administrative and supportive services to the partners as needed
Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
-Financial statement preparation to include the following: balance sheets, income statements, statement of cash flow projection, and investment summaries
-Record and monitor day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes and general ledger
-Reconcile bank accounts and sales tax filings at the end of each month
-Process receivables and payables, to include check preparation and wire transfers, invoicing and collections
-Handle monthly payroll, reconciling payroll taxes, and 401k for small team
-Work with an outside CPA firm on tax preparation and annual corporate filings
-Prepare detailed budgets and financial reports for properties as needed
Requirements
Requirements
-Degree in accounting or business administration to include excellent knowledge of general accounting principles preferred
-At least 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a business-services environment
-Experience with accounting software; such as QuickBooks, plus Excel
-4+ years of experience with property management or general management experience
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Knowledge of commercial real-estate is a plus
