ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is looking for a General Maintenance Technicianto join our Operations Services team at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. This position is onsite.
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of systems and buildings at company and customer sites ensuring reliable, efficient, and cost-effective long-term operation.
The essential functions of the position include:
- Perform General Maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings requiring practical skills and knowledge
- Perform basic inspections and testing on HVAC equipment
- Capable but not proficient at such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
- Work involves a variety of the following duties: equipment PM’s, replacing filters, belts, cleaning condensing units, cooling towers and chillers and checking air compressors and other equipment
- Responsible for field verification of safe work practices and implementation of operational excellence
- Ensure safety permits are being obtained and activity hazard analyses are being conducted
- Verify the availability and condition of all personal protective equipment
- Communicate with supervisors/management as to job progress and issues of assigned work
- Be familiar with preventive maintenance techniques
Your background includes:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of work experience
