General Laborer - Rental Maintenance

A General Laborer - Rental Services is responsible for safely and efficiently servicing containers that are used to transport non-hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service containers using appropriate techniques including handwork or manual work in accordance with established methods and applicable regulations.
• Manually installs, fits, repairs valves, caps, hoses, gaskets and other external and internal equipment on the container.
• Operates all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure washer, air electrical and/or mechanical equipment, in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production.
• Moves containers around the yard as requested.
• Maintains good housekeeping and cleanliness in the container cleaning areas.
• Completes all applicable and appropriate paperwork.
• Practices safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, but not required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Previous experience working outdoors, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limited supervision.
• Ability to operate any equipment necessary to perform job.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to accurately complete daily assignments.
• Ability to work in accordance with Company safety policies & procedures, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.

Physical/Mental Demands:

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoor environment 90% of the time.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, climb and balance.
• Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to manually lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another employee.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoors in varying adverse weather; low/high temperatures, wet and/or high humidity or sudden temperature changes.
• Exposure to outdoor elements, unpleasant odors, small spaces, exposure to fumes, dust, or uneven ground.
