Description:

THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION AND IT CAN BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. THE SALARY WILL BE CONTINGENT BASED ON THE LOCATION.

Duties performed:

  • Serve as the Systems Engineer (SE) for the OCIO’s Chief Data Officer’s enterprise information sharing requirements capabilities, and programs.
  • Lead and organize internal and/or external coalitions, whether ad-hoc or formal governance bodies, while representing the OCIOs equities in community-wide architecture and systems engineering activities.
  • Oversee, manage, and guide the development of systems analysis and statistical methods to assess current and proposed programs and propose alternative courses of action or solutions to promote improved functionalities, while optimizing operational capabilities.
  • Organize analysis teams to construct and use simulation models then prepare written reports and briefings documenting these technical efforts.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

GS-15: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:

  • Designing and testing systems in order to support technical procurement activities;
  • Developing quantitative and qualitative methodologies for decision support and systems analysis to identify alternatives to resolve issues related to systems and/or data integration; and
  • Developing architecture analysis plans while integrating knowledge of geospatial sciences.

DUTIES

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Anywhere in the U.S. (remote job).
