A Non-Profit Organization is a community clinic providing integrated health and mental health services in addition to workforce development to the community since 1989. Our direct services are structured for underserved, culturally diverse target populations. IMCES provides many programs designed to address the complexity of clients and community needs with the spectrum of severe mental illness, moderate mental illness, as well as programs for prevention and early intervention (PEI).About the Position:
IMCES has an immediate opening for a General Counsel with a specific background in California Labor Law relevant to State and Federal Labor Law and Healthcare Contracts with the government.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working directly with management for policy implementation and employment law compliance.
- Direct knowledge of Los Angeles County health and mental health contract, assuring compliance.
- Assist in the development and administer personnel policies and procedures.
- Perform benefits administration.
- Administer and monitor the performance evaluation program.
- Work to protect and prevent any potential claims against the agency.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for applicable Labor Law.
Minimum Requirements:
- Expertise and experience in risk assessment and risk management in the context of Community Clinic Organizations.
- Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work as a team player and work independently.
Required Education/Experience:
- J. D. Degree
- Licensed Attorney with relevant experience
- Knowledge of current Employment and Labor Laws
- Ability to Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity.
