- Attend and be present for all interactions with the student, staff, and faculty.
- Accompany the student to classes and during transition times between scheduled classes.
- Reinforce appropriate behavior in the classroom setting
- Redirect student if exhibiting behavior that is disruptive to the classroom setting
- Comply with all classroom protocols as it relates to classroom etiquette, compliance and safety
- mandates, and any rules or procedures established by the faculty member. This includes limiting
- distractions and the use of personal devices in the classroom.
- Report any classroom or student related issues or concerns to SAS immediately
- Remain a point of contact for the student as it relates to classroom or other campus related activities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with UMES Faculty, Students, and Staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with assigned student.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology.
- Physical ability to maneuver campus; this position may require a significant amount of walking between campus buildings.
- Availability weekdays, that coincide with the students class schedule
