Job description

*A short note or message about your interest in this specific job will greatly impact your chances of getting an interview*

Join us in making customers the heroes of their own stories! If you are someone looking to have a fun workplace, enjoy storytelling/world-building, and seek to bring entertainment to those around you, then being a Game Master is for you!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting, briefing, and debriefing customers (ie: verifying waivers, confirming ages, plugging other rooms, asking for reviews)
  • Using previous/trained acting skills to immerse customers in the room through costuming, script, and characterizations
  • Monitoring booking, scheduling, and workplace communication applications
  • Taking basic bookings and answering minor questions via phone and email
  • Collecting payment for booking changes and merch
  • Explaining escape rooms, important safety topics, and setting the stage for player experiences
  • Monitoring player experience, both in room and out of room, and providing timely and appropriate hints to help players succeed
  • Tailoring service to reach diverse groups (newcomers, escape rooms enthusiasts, birthday parties, professional/corporate teambuilders, etc) and players across all age groups and life experiences
  • Responding and adapting game play when something unexpected happens, such as a broken prop or player breaking safety rules, to make sure players are both safe and have an exceptional experience
  • Auditing rooms to ensure they are completely set up for incoming players, as well as resetting them to standard after the group is finished
  • Maintaining the facility, including cleaning tasks and minor prop maintenance
  • Restocking supplies and notifying leadership of inventory levels
  • Sanitizing game rooms on a weekly basis

We are looking for a diverse set of candidates who have experience in the customer service industry, theater, or really love curating a sense of imagination and excitement about both successfully completing puzzles and having a great time with friends and coworkers. Prior acting experience is helpful but not necessary. The ideal Game Masters are focused on providing exceptional customer service and amazing game experiences for all players. Our intent is to create an atmosphere that sets us apart and makes players want to return to us.

The probationary period will run until early July to determine if it is a good fit.

We work with an on call system for each game (you will know 2 hours in advance of a scheduled game), due to this we need candidates who are reliable and committed to being timely and willing to work flexible hours

Our peak time is weekends and evenings. We are looking for candidates who can be available at least two evenings a week, with weekend availability.

Candidates must be 18 years or older.

Candidates who write cover letters or a short note to let us know why they're interested in the position gain the most notice. We love seeing an example of your enthusiasm for puzzles or helping people!
