Game Master

Duties:

• Create an immersive and engaging experience for players by guiding them through interactive games and challenges
• Set up and reset game rooms with props, puzzles, and clues with excellent attention to detail
• Provide clear instructions and rules to players before the start of each game
• Monitor game progress and provide hints or assistance when necessary
• Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all players (and props) throughout the game
• Maintain a clean and organized game room environment
• Work with management in a timely manner to ensure that any changes in shifts/coverage are addressed as soon as possible

Skills:

• Theater: Ability to perform and engage an audience while greeting, briefing, and debriefing them
• Hospitality: Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for players
• Public speaking: confidently communicate instructions and engage players during game briefings
• Guest services: Anticipate and fulfill the needs of players to ensure a positive experience and be able to adapt quickly when the unanticipated occurs (such as a key prop breaking in the middle of a game) with the customers having no idea a problem even occurred
• Lifeguard: Maintain a safe environment and respond quickly to emergencies if needed
• Experience with children: Ability to interact with children (as young as 6) in a friendly and professional manner
• Cash handling: Accurately handle cash transactions and ability to use credit card payment platform (Square) for game bookings or merchandise sales
• Events management: assist in planning and executing special events or corporate team building activities
• Customer service: Resolve customer inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner

Please note that this position DOES require working evenings and weekends, and possibly some daytime shifts based on availability. Must have reliable transportation. Escape Corvallis is not able to employ anyone under the age of 18.

Pay: From $14.20 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
