About SUN & DUST: SUN & DUST Gallery is a vibrant art space nestled in the heart of Santa Fe, NM, dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of contemporary art pieces. Our gallery prides itself on offering a unique and enriching experience to art enthusiasts and collectors alike, featuring works which blur the lines between fine craft and fine art, with a significant representation of Southwest artists. Fine contemporary jewelry makes up about half of our inventory, with the owner's jewelry studio on site and available for custom commissions.

Job Description: SUN & DUST Gallery is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Gallery Associate. This position offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of contemporary art and jewelry while contributing to the success of our gallery.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist gallery visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide detailed information about the artworks on display, artists, and current exhibitions.
• Assist customers in making art purchases, including processing transactions and handling sales inquiries.
• Maintain the gallery's appearance by ensuring artworks are properly displayed and the space is clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving, tagging, and documenting artworks.
• Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments.
• Collaborate with the gallery owner to plan and execute special events, exhibitions, and promotional activities.

Requirements:

• Passion for and knowledge of art, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Professional dress and demeanor, with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Experience in retail, preferably in a high-end retail setting, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to task-switch as needed throughout a shift.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems is desirable.
• Adobe suite, graphic design, and admin experience are all a plus.
• Required to work weekends, with evenings and holidays as needed for events.
