About This Role

We are seeking a new or recent college graduate who is passionate about getting their foot in the door of the venture industry. Start date for the role is on or before June 15, 2024.

This individual will be a core contributor to the Alumni Ventures fundraising engine. The primary focus of the role will be to develop, maintain, and execute critical systems, processes and communications that contribute to our overall fundraising efforts.

You will report to the Deputy Chief Community Officer, who is responsible for the fundraising success of dozens of our funds.

Alumni Ventures is the largest venture capital firm dedicated to providing professional-grade venture portfolios to individual investors. In many ways, we are a direct-to-consumer financial services company. The goal of our fundraising team is to educate the ~15 million individual accredited investors in the US about venture capital and our fund offerings, and through our marketing and sales engine, grow our investor base.

What you’ll do

  • Assist company leadership in developing new ways to reach and onboard new investors into our funds

  • Develop reports and analytics summarizing production and efficiency of certain parts of our fundraising engine
  • Any special new projects or fundraising experiments are often explored through this role in some way, and so you will have a critical role in helping and leading new community building and fundraising initiatives
Requirements:
  • This is a rare role in the company, where a early-career employee reports directly to an Executive
  • You will get the chance to rapidly accelerate your career trajectory by assuming responsibilities not often asked of such young employees
  • You will also get the benefit of mentoring and management from senior leadership

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong track record of exceeding expectations in academics, extracurriculars, sports, and other personal pursuits
  • Personal references attesting to your intrinsic motivation, work ethic, short-term sacrifices for long-term gains
  • Growth mindset & desire to “put in the work” necessary to earn the rewards of an accelerated career

Who you are:

  • Strong analytical rigor
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • Extremely organized
  • A professional presence combined with relationship and communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties
  • Ability to quickly comprehend, evaluate, critique, and work within business processes and systems
  • A keen interest and passion for revenue generating activities, including marketing, sales, and customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and execute on processes while working with diverse and/or remote stakeholders
  • Adept at organizing, analyzing, and reporting on data; notices and addresses important details with a high degree of accuracy
  • Affable and capable of working with a diverse group of fellow employees
  • Self-starter and independent manager, but great team player, preferably with personnel management experience
  • Smart, creative thinker and problem-solver, fast learner, with demonstrated initiative

Ideally you will also have:

  • Experience as an entrepreneur
  • Knowledge and interest in current technology, trends, and developments
  • Experience with social media, video editing, photoshop, AI technologies
