Job Description
The Global Policy and Solutions and Advocacy and Influence teams use the power of IRC's ideas to solve the biggest challenges facing IRC's clients across the "arc of crisis." The Global Strategy and Planning Unit sits between and across the Global Policy and Advocacy Departments, serving as a unifying function to establish and maintain strategic alignment, functional efficiencies, positive and cohesive team culture, and a clear set of priorities across both departments. Specifically, this unit ensures that Policy and Advocacy Departments are using the same streamlined set of planning tools and processes, setting priorities collaboratively, working towards shared and unique goals and objectives as teams with role clarity, conducting discrete and joint strategic planning, and tracking and reporting progress concurrently.
Job Overview: The Global Funding and Operations Senior Manager will manage budget, fundraising and operational activities for the Global P&S and A&I teams. The Senior Manager will advise the Senior Director, Strategy and Planning on Funding and operational planning, ensuring that the teams have the necessary resources and operational tools to carry out advocacy strategies and policy development plans, and achieve strategic objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
Fundraising and grant management: Lead fundraising efforts for the Global P&S and A&I teams and lead all aspects of all grants from proposal through to final reporting. Serve as primary point of contact with IRC's fundraising teams, highlighting funding needs, developing funding proposals including budgets, and ensuring that fundraisers are kept aware of P&S/A&I funding priorities. Work closely with A&I/P&S unit leads to develop grant report narratives, and with finance partners to develop report budgets.
Facilitate procurement and contracting processes: Identify and manage procurement and contracts needs for the P&S and A&I teams. Liaise with IRC's procurement and HR teams to handle any procurement, contracting and consultancy needs for the team. These include: IT platform contracts; expert consultancies; speaking fees and per diems for roundtable participants; and more.
Support gender, equality, diversity and inclusion efforts: Ensure that team budget, operational tools and HR efforts align with team, ER and organizational GEDI plans and objectives. Work closely with the Senior Director and team members to support inclusion of GEDI principles and objectives in day-to-day collaboration and culture.
Teamwork: Support a positive team culture by acting openly and collaboratively, supporting colleagues in their work and sharing credit with others where appropriate.
