Connelly Capital ("Connelly") is looking for a full-time Funds Operations Associate to join our team. General Description
Ensures the integrity of Connelly's accounting and investment information by recording, verifying, and analyzing transactions. Performs ongoing monitoring of accounts and portfolios to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, legal documentation, accurate books & records, and internal policies & procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Leads the full accounting cycle to ensure books & records are updated, including but not limited to the preparation of financial statements, account reconciliation, distributions, and invoicing/collections, among others.
- Understands deal documents to ensure management fees are collected, accordingly, and transfer of funds are performed accurately.
- Assists with the preparation and coordination of annual audits.
- Supports payroll management tasks monthly.
- Manage relationships with clients mainly for asset management related matters.
Compliance (SEC, OCIF, Hacienda, DDEC):
- Understands and supports the quarterly and annual reporting requirements for local regulators and tax agencies, such as Departamento de Hacienda, OCIF, DDEC and the SEC.
- Supports in the preparation of regulatory reports and ongoing compliance monitoring.
Investment Related (Memos, Covenants, etc.):
- Prepares amortization tables on an as needed basis as part of financing deal closings and ensures alignment with final legal loan documents.
- Requests financial information and supports the ongoing financial covenants on promissory notes and other fund investments. Escalates any concerns, accordingly.
- Supports the preparation of investment memos and preparation of amended documents to ensure any new activity continues to be in line with legal deal documentation.
- Supports the deal closing process and ensures closing checklist is on track.
Reporting & Projects:
- Prepares and submits weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, and assists in ad-hoc projects, as requested by Manager.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in financial services with a leading accountancy practice or financial institution.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Spanish.
- Organized, able to work with multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detailed oriented.
- Excellent teamwork and problem solver.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge in MS Office Programs. Knowledge in accounting system Sage is a plus.
