SalaryFellowship Place is recruiting for a full time Program Assistant for the agency’s daytime drop-in program for individuals experiencing homelessness. A majority of individuals served have a substance use disorder and/or a history of behavioral health problems. The Program Assistant oversees daily operations, including interviewing new clients and coordinating meals, laundry and shower schedules. Responsibilities also include making referrals for temporary shelter, primary health & behavioral health care, financial aid programs, employment services, and permanent housing. Client transportation in agency owned vehicles also required as needed.
Applicants with knowledge of services for the homeless in the Greater New Haven area and a basic understanding of motivational interviewing and harm reduction principles are encouraged to apply. Associate’s Degree in related field or minimum of two years experience working with the homeless is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Hours are 7:30am-3pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-3:30pm on Sunday with occasional overtime. Salary $23/hour with paid time off, health benefits, and retirement plan.
