This organization is a physician-owned medical practice specializing in the care of expectant mothers and newborns. They were founded in 2016 by a small group of neonatologists serving a single hospital’s NICU. Since then, they have grown to more than 100 providers serving hospitals in multiple states, providing 24-hour care every day of the week. Their team of board certified neonatologists, obstetric hospitalists, and pediatric specialists stand by the core ethic that medicine should be the delivery of consistent, continuous care for mothers, babies, and their families. The practice combines a national infrastructure with local support, using their breadth and depth of clinical and operational resources to allow their physicians to spend more time on delivering high-quality care.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is employed by a private physician practice and based in a medical center in Albuquerque. The practice currently has three physicians, as well as neonatal nurse practitioners, working in the center and is seeking another provider due to an upcoming retirement.
The medical center is renowned for its commitment to women's and children's health, being equipped with the latest technology and resources to provide top-tier care.
The core details of the role include:
- 53-bed Level 3 NICU
- average daily census of 25
- 3 physician model with NP support
Provider teams see an average of 25 to 30 patients per day, shared between physicians and nurse practitioners.
The medical center uses an EHR and clinical assistants are always available to assist providers.
The schedule is collaboratively decided between the physicians staffed at the medical center, sharing the duties evenly. Providers typically work two 5-day stretches per month, for a total of 10 days per month.
On-call is 10 days per month, with the nurse practitioners being first on-call and physicians only contacted when needed.
