Job Description
Full Time live-out Nanny required for a loving UWS family with one toddler (and newborn due in March 2024) starting early 2024. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for all child related duties including providing nurturing care and interacting with the children in a warm, stimulating, and age-appropriate way. To be successful in this role, you will need to be someone reliable, engaging and proactive who is experienced caring for multiple young children. The parents are looking for a true partner who they can rely on to show initiative and good judgment and put their children's development and safety first. The ideal candidate is mature, flexible with their schedule, experienced with newborn, toddler and school age milestones and who appreciates direct and open communication with the family. Some domestic travel is anticipated, typically no more than 2-3 weeks at a time with some flexibility for weekday-only live-in.
Location: UWS, NY
Start date: Family is flexible to find the perfect candidate for a long-term commitment - no later than the beginning of March, 2024, ideal would be January/February 2024 and open to starting earlier as needed.
Days/times: Guaranteed 45 hours/week, with availability to flex to 50-55 hours as needed for earlier/later shifts, date nights, and a few weekends would be ideal. Depending on the start date the family would be looking to start at 35 hours a week (e.g. with a start in January/February) and ramp up/transition to FT hours once the new baby arrives in March.
Children: One toddler boy and newborn due March 2024
Conditions: $27 - $32 per hour* plus healthcare stipend*, unlimited metrocard, sick/personal days, vacation and public holidays *dependent on experience and other considerations
For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:
- Authorization to work in the US
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a nanny, 5-10 years preferred
- A well-suited demeanor for working infants and with toddlers
- Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
- Proven tenure with multiple families including excellent references
- Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
- An open and flexible schedule for early mornings/late nights, weekends and ability/interest to travel
- Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and play areas, laundry, researching and planning playdates and activities, etc)
- A clean background to pass our comprehensive background check and social media checks
- A professional appearance
- A clean Driver's License would be a bonus (not required to apply for this role)
