Qualifications and Job Duties Include:
- Must hold valid Ohio license or certificate for 7-12 Mathematics
- Strong knowledge of content area in the high school setting
- Teaching experience with at-risk student population, or ability to teach at-risk students
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings
- Such alternative or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate, or acceptable
- Develops and administers mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, as well as effective student learning for all
- Encourages and supports student confidence, academic risk taking and perseverance; creates authentic connections to the world
- Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and the workplace
- Conducts and documents ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective documented communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- All other duties as assigned; ability to remain flexible and willingness to be a team player
