SUMMARY: Drives electrical/liquefied gas powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forks and clamps to lift, stack, tier or move finished products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting devices.
Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.

• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Load and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Lubricate trucks, recharge batteries, fill fuel tanks, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
• Must be able to up-stack and down-stack pallets of case goods four (4) high.
• Must be able to handle standard forklifts, push-pull, and clamp trucks.
• Must be able to up-stack and down-stack can units four (4) high.
• Must have working knowledge of all stock locations.
• Upon receipt of shipping papers, car loader must be able, single-handedly if required, to inspect, prepare, chart, load, secure, seal, and release a rail car, sea van, piggyback van, or dry van.
• Must have a working knowledge of shipping I.D. codes, can marks, computerized tagging system, and quality standards.
• Car loader accepts the responsibility to maintain excellent standards for shipping to keep non transportation damage at a minimum.
• Must understand and follow Safety rules.

REQUIRED SKILLS/BACKGROUND

• Forklift operating experience highly preferred. Will become certified through Del Monte Foods program.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment including occasional weekends.
