Performs Housekeeping services and sanitation tasks on a daily and project basis. Assumes responsibility for general cleaning in all areas of the clinic. Uses supplies and equipment in a safe manner. Actively participates in continuous Quality Improvement. Identifies health and safety concerns and unsafe work practices within the workplace. Is involved in developing safe work practices and is held accountable for the day to day efforts of ensuring a safe workplace by following safe work practices.
Follows housekeeping polices and procedures for mixing of chemicals, use of PPE, and handling of infectious waste.
Cleans patient rooms and all other areas in accordance with department procedures and quality standards.
Attends all required inservices, including Infection Control, safety, and scheduled department staff meetings.
Cleans and maintains all carpets and hard floor surfaces.
Accept and perform all job duties as assigned, facilitating changes in schedule when necessary.
Demonstrates proper body mechanics when lifting or moving materials.
Demonstrates proper handwashing and other infection control techniques.
Identifies and properly disposes of regular, contaminated and recycle waste.
Cleans and maintains all housekeeping equipment.
High school graduate or equivalent. Ability to complete DOT Hazardous Materials competency.
