We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to play a key role in developing and maintaining our complex web applications. You'll work across various technologies, collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver innovative solutions. Your expertise in both Java backend development and middleware technologies will be instrumental in ensuring seamless communication and data exchange throughout our system.
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications using various front-end and back-end technologies, including Java, JavaScript frameworks, and others.
Implement and configure middleware solutions (e.g., Spring Boot, Kafka, RabbitMQ) to facilitate efficient communication between diverse systems and applications.
Develop and maintain highly performant and maintainable Java backend code, adhering to best practices and design principles.
Collaborate with the team to design and implement APIs that adhere to best practices and security standards.
Utilize test automation frameworks to write and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests for both front-end and back-end components.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and delivery.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in full-stack development, middleware technologies, and Java.
Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with a strong focus on Java backend development.
Strong understanding of the Java stack, messaging technologies, containerization, web containers, and test automation.
Strong understanding and experience with middleware technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
Demonstrated experience coding in multiple programming languages, including Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Experience in Python programming with core data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
Familiarity with various package managers and test frameworks.
Experience with continuous integration/delivery tools like GIT, Cloudbees Jenkins, uDeploy, and/or Pivotal Concourse is a plus.
Knowledge of Python web frameworks like Flask or Django is a plus.
Fluency in formal language design concepts like type systems is a plus.
Experience with quantitative research processes, methodologies, and tools is a plus.
Experience with financial data is a plus.
This role must be located in Knoxville, TN.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $75,000-$135,000.
