This job works hand in hand with the Specialty Pharmacy team members, referring doctors, nursing staff, and care coordinators. Responsible for working directly with patients to navigate the Specialty Pharmacy process, ensuring patients receive timely access to their prescribed medications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating processing, filling, packing, and shipping of prescriptions. Maintains inventory. Assists with intake and refills as necessary. Participates in special projects/committees as needed.

Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Job Duties
- Maintains inventory and ordering.
- Communicates and acts as liaison between insurance company, patients, providers, and Specialty Pharmacy team.
- Maintains documentation relative to the job.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development and continued education.
- Maintains efficiency in Specialty Pharmacy intake technician and Specialty Pharmacy refill advocate roles.
- Assists with special projects/ committees.
- Performs all job duties in accordance with company Specialty Pharmacy policies and accrediting bodies.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Other related duties as required.
