Veterinary hospice and in-home euthanasia is one of the most vulnerable times a family will go through with their furry family member, and it is when your empathetic support can make such a wonderful difference to them. Our team works incredibly well together, and focuses on supporting each other, and also the families we help. It is important for us to find someone who will embrace this same philosophy.
A Gentle Goodbye Veterinary Hospice is a small independently-owned company that has been serving the Chicagoland area since 2012, and is looking for the right person to join us and help us grow. We offer hospice and geriatric consultations, telehealth quality of life consultations, in-home euthanasia, and aqua-cremation (eco-friendly, water-based cremation). We are looking to add a compassionate and dynamic Care Coordinator to our small team, and this could be you!
The ideal candidate will:
- have excellent computer skills
- be very detail-oriented
- be passionate about this incredibly rewarding field
Must be:
- Great at multitasking, with the ability to smoothly handle high call volume while properly completing many tasks at once
- Self-motivated
- Excel at working in an environment without constant direct supervision
Daily tasks and responsibilities (not inclusive)
- Answer the phone and discuss the hospice, euthanasia, and aftercare process with families
- Set appointments for the doctors
- Respond to emails and online inquiries
- Perform office tasks to keep everything running smoothly
- Take into our care deceased pets with care and dignity
- Return urns containing pets' ashes back to their families
- Provide heartwarming follow up contact to the families we help
Set schedule - 4 days/wk (38 hrs/wk)
- Mon/Thur: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Fri/Sat: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (38 hrs/wk)
- Days off: Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays
Pay rate: $20/hr
