Job description

Proper Hospitality is seeking a Front Office Manager at Montauk Yacht Club, a 107-room luxury property set to debut within The Collective. Spanning 35 acres on Montauk’s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities.

As the Front Office Manager at Montauk Yacht Club, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our guests receive the highest level of service from the moment they arrive. You will lead and oversee the Front Office team, including Front Desk Agents, Concierge, and Night Auditors, to provide a seamless and memorable guest experience. Your leadership and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Service Excellence: Set the standard for guest service by providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, anticipating guest needs and resolving issues promptly and effectively
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor and supervise Front Office colleagues to maintain high levels of professionalism, courtesy and efficiency
  • Check-In and Check-Out: Ensure smooth and efficient check-in and check-out processes, including VIP and group arrivals
  • Guest Relations: Foster positive guest relationships by addressing concerns, requests and feedback with tact and discretion
  • Financial Management: Monitor and manage the Front Office budget, including room rates, occupancy and revenue maximization
  • Inventory and Reservations: Oversee room inventory management, reservations and distribution strategies to optimize revenue and occupancy
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a secure and safe environment for guests and employees by implementing and enforcing security protocols
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyze reports related to occupancy, revenue, guest satisfaction and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Technology: Stay up-to-date with Front Office technology, property management systems, and online booking platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Front Office operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role at a luxury property
  • Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and other hotel software
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with guests and team members
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
