Job Summary:
Hosts will help staff with several duties to aide in creating a positive experience for all guests. Hosts are the first interaction when a guest comes into Hop Valley. Must be a positive individual, comfortable interacting with guests. Communication with other staff members is very important, as well as learning quickly and keeping up in a fast-paced environment.
Expo Runners will ensure that food is getting from the kitchen to the guests table quickly and accurately. Checking all plates before theyre taken out and garnishing dishes that require garnishes. Must be able to memorize the menu and will need to learn the table numbers. Must keep a positive attitude and be comfortable interacting with customers and coworkers. Communication with the kitchen is very important for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting and seating guests with a positive attitude in an orderly, timely fashion while optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff. (Host)
- Checking, garnishing, and running food to the tables quickly and efficiently. Sometimes taking an order and relaying that order to the server. (Expo)
- Communicating with servers and seating in order to keep the flow of the restaurant at a smooth pace.
- Bussing tables, pre-bussing tables of empty glassware, cleared plates, or used silverware before the guests have left.
- Wiping tables and menus between guests We pride ourselves in keeping a clean and safe environment for guests and our staff alike.
- Rolling silverware and ensuring that we dont run out. This means communicating with the dishwasher or a member of management when we need silverware washed.
- Keeping water stations and server stations clean and stocked with napkins, salt & pepper, side plates, silverware, water cups, water, condiments
- Assisting in other miscellaneous duties when requested.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred familiarity with industry best practices
- 18 years of age or older

- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties
